When we started learning about Sejahtera, I thought it was just another buzzword dressed in local flavour. But the more we went into it, the more it started to feel like something deeper. Something we’ve always known, just never named.
The way Sejahtera connects things like intellect, emotion, spirituality, ethics, it made me realise how fragmented our idea of attaining success has become. We chase achievements and validation but where’s the soul in that? This idea of a 360° kesejahteraan diri (holistic well-being) felt personal. It made me contemplate, because I’ve definitely had moments where I focused so much on the theoretical part of something and feigned ignorance when it comes to the application.
There’s this part from the slides that talked about education without soul, and honestly? That one stung like a ground wasp because I’ve seen it. I’ve felt it. When you go through the motions but your heart’s not in it anymore. When knowledge becomes mechanical, not meaningful. And then comes Sejahtera, reminding us that learning should transform, not just inform.
The concept of localising sustainability also made a lot of sense. Not everything has to be global or flashy. Sejahtera proves that sustainability can be rooted in something as simple as how you treat people, how you manage your time, how you balance your life. It’s not just about the planet but it’s about people too.
There’s still a long way to go before concepts like these move beyond academic slides and into everyday life. But at least now, I’m starting to see what it might look like. Not perfect, but possible.
